XtendFlex soybeans are Bayer’s newest soybean, built on the proven performance of the high-yielding Roundup Ready 2 Xtend® technology, now with added tolerance to glufosinate, providing growers with additional flexibility and tools to help manage tough to control and resistant weeds.
On September 28, 2020 the European Commission authorized XtendFlex soybean technology (a stack containing MON 87708 x MON 89788 x A5547‑127) for food, feed, import and processing in the European Union. With this authorization, Bayer looks forward to a full launch in the United States and Canada in 2021.
Built on the latest genetics, XtendFlex soybeans now offer the addition of glufosinate tolerance. This opens the doors to farmers who choose to use glufosinate herbicide (brand name Liberty® Herbicide) on their farms. Ultimately, XtendFlex offers farmers the yield they want with the choice they need.
XtendFlex includes tolerance to dicamba, glyphosate and glufosinate.
Top volume XtendFlex soybeans have a 4+ Bu/A advantage vs. Enlist E3® soybeans in germplasm trials.
(Data as of October 22, 2020. 2020 Bayer Commercial Germplasm Trials (94 locations in 2020 reporting data located in IL, IN, IA, KS, MD, MI, MN, MO, NE, OH, SD, TN, and WI) Bayer Commercial Germplasm Trials = 9 of the top 10 volume forecasted XtendFlex products.)
XtendFlex soybeans as part of the Roundup Ready® Xtend Crop System control more than 335 weed species.
(Based on approved EPA herbicide labels for the herbicides recommended for use in each system as of 10/28/2020.)
Bayer has built an aggressive XtendFlex soybeans supply plan to meet market demand for the 2021 season. Bayer anticipates this launch will be comparable to Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans.
